Before the Semester Begins

Computer Requirements
Some academic programs have specific computer requirements. Visit the Student Computing Center (ACE) to see if your program is included.
ECU ID
Each student is assigned a unique ID to register for classes and other important systems at ECU. Also see PirateID/Passphrase below.
Email Info
Your Office 365 account offers email, calendar, contacts and Lync instant messaging and OneDrive cloud storage.
Emergency Alerts
Sign up to receive automatic text warnings sent to your cell phone.

IT Policies and Guidelines

Network Connect
Visit the Connect website to learn about ECU wireless networks. Problems connecting to the ECU network? ACE Student Support Center can help.
OneStop Web Portal and Pirate Port
Register for classes, check grades and transcripts, review financial aid information and other useful tools. PirateID and passphrase required.

Pirate Port is the replacement for OneStop, and most student services are now available through this interface as well as OneStop. However, both will be running in parallel for the next year or so.
PirateID/Passphrase
ID used to access electronic systems at ECU such as email, Blackboard and Pirate Port. Once assigned, PirateIDs are activated through the Pirate ID (PID) auto-registration system. Students create a passphrase and set up authentication questions. Users are required to change their passphrase every 90 days.

Piratedrive
Every faculty, staff and student is assigned a secure, 40GB online storage folder for important files. This space is password-protected and backed up daily.
Software
Learn about available software for students, including purchasing, educational discounts and training resources for Microsoft products and as well as other licensed software.

Office 365 Pro Plus - Install Microsoft Office on five Mac or Windows computers, five tablets or your mobile device through your Office 365 Pro Plus subscription. Enrolled students only.

Microsoft4Students - Download Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 - it's yours to keep - even after graduation.

Symantec AntiVirus available from the ECU Download Center.
