What services are provided by Joyner ILL to patrons with disabilities?
ECU students, faculty, and staff who are registered with the Department for Disability Support Services as having a disability that makes using the library difficult are eligible to received personalized assistance.
- The Pull&Hold service can pull materials from the circulating collections for you and hold them at the Circulation Desk. There is no charge for this service.
- The ILL Document Delivery service can scan book chapters, periodicals, and microformat items into PDF or TIFF file formats for you. If desired, these documents can be printed onto paper rather than sent to you as computer files. There is no charge for this service.
- Large print, Braille, audiobook, and other special format materials may be requested via ILL Borrowing. Unfortunately, though, not all libraries lend these materials. Although there are not usually any charges related to this service, some libraries occasionally charge a lending fee that Joyner cannot pay; in such cases, you would be contacted to discuss possible request and payment options before any charges accrue.
- If you are unable to enter your Interlibrary Loan, Document Delivery, or Pull&Hold requests using ILLiad, the ILL staff can take your citations and place the requests for you.
To enroll for these services or to ask questions about them, please contact William Gee, Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Librarian, at geec@ecu.edu or 252-328-2268.
Additionally, Joyner Library has a dedicated workstation with screen-reading and other software in the Reference Department.
