ECU Centennial Exhibit Series
The University Archives is proud to present A Century of Education & Impact: The History of East Carolina University, an Exhibit in Four Parts.
This four-part exhibit is presented as a tribute to East Carolina’s growth into a nationally recognized research university. The exhibit’s four series will be displayed during the two-year centennial celebration. Each series focuses on a period of development in the life of East Carolina.
Series I: The Founding of an Institution -- East Carolina Teachers Training School was on display from February 13 - September 15, 2006.

Series II: The College Transformation -- East Carolina Teachers College was on display on the 4th floor of Joyner Library from September 15, 2006 - February 15, 2007. Online Exhibit
Series III: Not Just for Teachers -- East Carolina College February 15 - September 15, 2007. The exhibit opens in February and offers a glance at the transition of East Carolina from a teachers college to a college offering multi-disciplinary four-year degrees. The cases will display photographs, drawings, blueprints, and other various artifacts to illuminate this period of growth and expansion on campus. Online Exhibit
Series IV: The Realization of a Dream -- East Carolina University September 15, 2007 - February 15, 2008
The exhibit series was created by graduate student Adrienne Rea.
