As a state agency, ECU is subject to two pieces of legislation concerned with records management. GS-121 the North Carolina Archives and History Act outlines the authority of the state archives to direct records management programs in all state agencies. GS-132 the North Carolina State Public Records Law defines public records; access to and care for those records; and methods of destruction of public records.
