The Friends of Joyner Library at East Carolina University is a nonprofit organization that provides financial support to the library, which serves the university and the region. Gifts to the library are used to fund projects or purchases that may not be funded through the annual budget.

Serving to elevate public awareness of and raise funds for the library, our goal is to enrich both intellectual and educational environments for faculty, students and citizens of Eastern North Carolina.

Your tax-deductible donation and support can help the library purchasedistinguished collections, sponsor and host special events, acquire new print resources for the collections, preserve archival materials that enhance the history of our university, acquire scores and recordings for the Music Library and produce digital libraries.


A Note From The Friends
During the past year, the Friends of Joyner Library has begun the process of returning to its past prominence, serving as a support arm for the library in offering resources that promote superior education. This support, aides the library in many key ways by funding projects and purchases that current state funding through the annual budget does not cover. The achievements of this organization reflect the hard work of countless individuals. The recent success of the Friends annual banquet and book sale is a testament to our reestablishment. This also reflects the greater potential for further and future success of the organization.

Friends members often ask how the organization can support an emerging research library. Our membership can be a driving force in ensuring that there is support of the library as it continues to emerge as the heart and soul of the university. The Friends organization will continue to grow and evolve as we work toward these efforts—providing valuable financial resources, flexibility, significant presence, facility improvement and a base that understands
and provides continuous commitment to the library’s future plans.

We call upon all members of the Friends of Joyner Library to continue being a voice and support base that seeks to improve the library’s collections, resources and facilities. Our efforts are far reaching, but our abilities are
endless as we keep moving forward and working as a unified body supporting East Carolina University.
