The North Carolina Collection is developing a comprehensive collection of printed and non-print material reflecting the people, history, and culture of Eastern North Carolina--materials that facilitate research by students and faculty of East Carolina University, assist school teachers in enhancing the quality of history classes, and enable the citizens of the region to learn about their past. This material is carefully preserved, cataloged, and made accessible for study and research.

We seek the following types of materials, among others:
Individuals or groups are urged to provide copies of their current publications so that the information will be available for research and preserved for posterity.
Minnie Marguerite Wiggins (1925-1999), North Carolina Librarian from 1968 until 1991, established the Minnie Marguerite Wiggins Endowment Fund for the purchase of books for the North Carolina Collection. Interest from this endowment furthers our goal of developing a comprehensive collection of library materials pertaining to Eastern North Carolina and it people.
