       DIRECTIONS TO SPECIAL COLLECTIONS

We are located on the fourth floor Drum Section of Joyner. You will need to take the elevator on the first floor and go up to the third floor. Once you are on the third floor, turn left, go down the hallway, turn left again and when you are at the end of that hallway, you will see the elevator that you will need to take to get to the fourth floor.

VISITOR PARKING

There are several parking options available to Special Collections visitors:

  • Metered Spaces
The metered spaces that allow up to one hour of parking are located in parking lots adjacent to Joyner Library and behind Mendenhall. Metered spaces that allow up to two hours of parking are located behind Kinko's copy shop on Tenth Street. The university charges $.25 every 15 minutes in a metered space thus one hour will cost $1.00 and two hours would be $2.00.  All meters take only quarters.

  • Parking Permits
The ECU Department of Parking and Transportation Services office, located at 305 E. Tenth Street next to McDonald's offers visitor parking permits. The permits allow visitors to only park in the B1 and B3 zones on campus and at Minges Coliseum. Visitors who choose to park at Minges Coliseum can take one of the shutter buses over to the library. The buses run every 10 to 15 minutes to and from the library between 7:00am and 6:50pm. The permits cost $4.00 per day and $10.00 a week. Weekend parking passes can be purchased for $4.00 a day before 4:30pm Fridays at Parking and Transportation Services office and after-hours at the ECU Police Department located on 609 E. Tenth Street. Patrons who need to call for permits and further information should call 252-328-6294 for Parking and Transportation Services or 252-328-6787 for the ECU Police Department.

  • Departmental Guest Passes
Departmental guest passes are special parking permits that departments can obtain for potential visitors. Contact Special Collections Department at 252-328-6671 or email the department at http://www.ecu.edu/cs-lib/Reference/email.cfm and we will be happy to acquire a pass for you. There is no charge for these permits. Please contact us one week prior to your visit if you wish us to obtain one of these permits.

  • Street parking
Street parking may be found in the neighborhoods that surround the campus.

More detailed visitor parking information is available from the ECU Department of Parking and Transportation Services at http://www.ecu.edu/parking/visitors.cfm.
