The Digital Learning Center is a general purpose computer lab located in the West Wing of the Joyner Library. We have 120 computers stations available for use, with Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2003 installed. At the present time, this is a PC-only lab; no Macintosh computers are available. All lab computers are connected to the Internet, and laptops can connect to the Internet wirelessly via the Library’s Wi-Fi network. Printing is available for a fee of 10¢ a page.
We offer in-Library laptop checkout to East Carolina University students. Our laptops are equipped with the same programs as the lab computers and include a wireless card for Wi-Fi Internet access. Headphones are also available for in-Library checkout.
If you would like to use the large LCD and Plasma screens located in the Library's Group Study rooms to display images from your laptop, we offer remotes, adapters, and instructional guides for check out with a valid student ID.
In addition, we issue Community Access Cards to members of the surrounding community with a valid ID. Patrons can use these Community Access Cards to log on to one of several labeled Community Access computers in the DLC lab, or any of the computers in the Reference computer lab.
We are also proud to announce our new Computer Help Manual Lending Library. If you are having trouble with a particular program, check our library to see if there is a guide to help you. The DLC Lending Library is located at the DLC Desk and is in-Library only; you cannot check out and take these books home.
