As a Collection Development Librarian I:

  • Provide outreach to faculty and graduate students

  • Provide research assistance and bibliographic instruction in my subject areas
  • Promote the university's scholarly communication initiatives

  • Manage Joyner Library's Federal Documents Collection
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Depository Library program (FDLP) rules and regulations
  • Select print and electronic books

  • Review and adjust approval plan profiles for my subject areas

  • Assess the collection supporting my subjects

  • Analyze use of library collections and assist with collection management projects
  • Recommend materials suitable for digitization

  • Recommend journal subscriptions and cancellations, online journal backfiles, microform materials, databases, datasets, and other resources

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues throughout Academic Library Services and the Laupus Health Sciences Library to build strong collections
