Available for Eastern North Carolina Educators

Joyner Library offers an Educator Library Card for educators in eastern North Carolina. This card is available, free of charge, to K to grade 12 educators of eastern North Carolina. The card is offered to a 36-county region that is currently being served by the Walter and Daisy Carson Latham Clinical Schools Network in the College of Education. The counties include: Beaufort, Bertie, Camden, Carteret, Clinton City, Craven, Cumberland, Dare, Duplin, Edenton-Chowan, Edgecombe, Franklin, Gates, Granville, Greene, Halifax, Harnett, Hertford, Hyde, Johnston, Jones, Lenoir, Martin, Nash/Rocky Mount, Northampton, Onslow, Pamlico, Pitt, Roanoke Rapids, Sampson, Tyrrell, Vance, Washington, Weldon City, Wayne and Wilson.

In the year 2003-2004, the TRC and Pitt County Schools partnered in a pilot program to develop an outreach program to promote the new card along with other outreach efforts offered to educators. Although the card was piloted in Pitt County for the first year, any educators in the above counties can currently register for the Educator Library Card at the circulation desk of Joyner Library and/or the service desk of the Music Library located in the A.J. Fletcher Music Building. To register, the educator completes a registration form and must present current verification of employment as an educator.

In offering the Educator Library Card, it is the goals of Joyner Library to provide area educators with free access to the materials in Joyner Library, to increase awareness of the resources and materials in Joyner Library and to show our commitment and support to the area educators.
