PARENTS & FAMILY
The Career Center staff works with ECU students to equip them with
the tools and skills they need to enter the marketplace. Utilizing a
mix of personal coaching, class presentations, workshops, and seminars
supported with comprehensive technologies, the team guides students in
every developmental level in their transition from student to
professional.
Career readiness services include assessments, resume and
cover letter development, interviewing skills, professional dress and
professional etiquette, informational interviewing, job search
strategies, networking, salary negotiations, and more.
Job search and
recruitment services include career fairs, on-campus employer
information sessions, on-campus interviewing, and ECU CareerNET, The Career Center's exclusive job database featuring thousands of employers and job
and internship postings for ECU students and alumni.
However, we don't work alone. We can best guide
students to success when we work in partnership with faculty, academic
advisors, and perhaps most importantly, parents and families. Parents and families can help by
encouraging students to take full advantage of the services provided by The Career Center and by supporting students in their efforts to
begin mapping out their career path in their freshmen year.
