The Student Recreation Center is a winner of the prestigious “Facility of Merit” Award from Athletic Business Magazine. The facility is 150,277 sq. ft. and features locker & shower facilities, indoor pool & outdoor pool, 10,000 sq. ft. weight & fitness area, 3 fitness studios, 5 racquetball courts, indoor running track, 27 ft climbing wall, a juice bar, sport & outdoor equipment rental, towel services, and reservation options. 


The North Recreational Complex located on Highway 264 East (10 minutes from main campus) features eight multipurpose activity fields.  The fields can be sized to accommodate soccer, flag football, lacrosse, ultimate Frisbee, and rugby. A field house overlooks the fields providing equipment storage and a covered seating area with restrooms.  Parking is provided adjacent to the field house. 

The property also includes 6 acres of water for fishing and boating, a sunbathing sand beach, fitness equipment, a .5 mile trail around the lake, sand volley ball, corn-hole and 18 hole disc golf course.   

Our brand new Odyssey High Challenge Course at NRC is approximately 40ft tall and has 8 distinct high elements. The main course is 120ft long with two 300ft zip lines as option to finish the course.

The NRC also features six walking/jogging trails and one 5K running trail.

Free kayaks, disc golf discs, sand volleyball, cornhole, and sunbathing for all ECU students and CRW members.  

Home to intramural and club sports, some challenge course groups and special events, the Blount Sports Complex is located off of Charles Boulevard behind the Belk building,. 

The facility offers numerous opportunities in a variety of sports such as flag football, soccer, softball, lacrosse, ultimate Frisbee, rugby, lacrosse, and field hockey. A field house with restrooms is also on-site for convenience to participants. 

Parking is available in the lot next to the fields off Charles Boulevard. The fields can be reserved for use by campus groups with advance notice.

Blount Sports Complex - Alpine Tower & Low Course
Large open field space with 6 wooded acres containing over 20 low elements as well as the 50ft tall Alpine Tower and Giant Swing.

- Arrive at the intersection of 264 and Memorial Drive
- Go through stop light and travel on Farmville boulevard to 14th street
- Right on 14th Street
- Travel to the intersection of 14th street and Charles boulevard
- Left on Charles boulevard
- Travel to Ninth Street
- Right on Ninth Street
- Second left into large parking lot. (Mendenhall parking)
- Enter the SRC from northeast side of the building.

 

Take 264 East from Raleigh (or I-95) to Greenville

Option 1: Arrive at the intersection of 264 and Memorial Drive

- Go through stop light and travel on Farmville boulevard to 14th street
- Right on 14th Street
- Travel to the intersection of 14th street and Charles boulevard
- Right on Charles boulevard
- Travel to Curry drive
- Right on Curry drive and follow road to playing fields.

Option 2: Arrive at the intersection of 264 and Memorial Drive

- Right on Memorial Drive
- Travel to Greenville boulevard
- Left on Greenville boulevard
- Travel to the intersection of Greenville boulevard and Charles boulevard
- Left on Charles boulevard
- First Left is Curry drive, follow Curry drive to playing fields.

*The Blount Recreational Sports Fields are located off of Charles Boulevard on Curry Drive near the intersection of Greenville Boulevard. The fields are in the vicinity of Minges Coliseum, Dowdy-Ficklen Football Stadium and Harrington Baseball Stadium.

As you approach Greenville take 264 East, Exit 73B to Washington. Travel 10 miles to first stop light with Hess, Wendy’s and Bojangles on the left. Take left on 264 East and travel 0.4 miles to entrance of complex.

 

To the Team Training Center/Challenge Course (Alpine Tower & Low Ropes Challenge Course):  Follow directions to the Blount Sports Complex.  All Team Training Center programs meet at the Blount Sports Complex Field House.
