North Recreational Complex

ECU Transit provides bus service to NRC.

Monday-Friday 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
  • Route 505 North Campus Crossing departing from Speight every 12 to 30 minutes depending on time of day.  **This is exclusive North Campus so passengers will need to ride and walk through the North Campus gate to the NRC.
Monday-Friday 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm
  • Route 555 North Campus Crossing/North Recreational Complex departing from Speight every 30 minutes.
Monday-Friday 6:30 pm - 10:30 pm
  • Route 805 North Campus Crossing/North Recreational Complex departing from Christenbury Gym every 30 minutes.
Saturday-Sunday 12:00 noon - 8:30 pm
  • Route 301 North Recreational Complex departing from Mendenhall/West End (then to College Hill) every 30 minutes.
Service operates until Fall Break with no service Labor Day weekend and Family Weekend.

The North Recreational Complex located on Highway 264 East (10 minutes from main campus) features eight multipurpose activity fields.  The fields can be sized to accommodate soccer, flag football, lacrosse, ultimate Frisbee, and rugby. A field house overlooks the fields providing equipment storage and a covered seating area with restrooms.  Parking is provided adjacent to the field house.

The property also includes 6 acres of water for fishing and boating, a sunbathing sand beach, fitness equipment, a .5 mile trail around the lake, sand volley ball, corn-hole and 18 hole disc golf course. 

Our brand new Odyssey High Challenge Course at NRC is approximately 40ft tall and has 8 distinct high elements. The main course is 120ft long with two 300ft zip lines as option to finish the course.

The NRC also features six walking/jogging trails and one 5K running trail.

Free kayaks, disc golf discs, sand volleyball,  cornhole, and sunbathing for all ECU students and CRW members.
