Pirate Adventure Recreation Orientation Trips

Backpack & Rock Climb
-- Session I July 9th to 13th,  5 Days

--Session II July 22nd to 26th, 5 Days

Hike a mountain gorge along the shores of a wild creek. When the heat of the day builds, cool off in the waters beneath the forest canopy. As we hike out of the gorge, the vistas of of Western NC will surely steal your breath. Each day will be spent backpacking and camping in tents and then at the end of the backpacking portion, we will travel via van to learn the ropes of rock climbing at Pilot Mountain State Park.
Both sessions' trips are similar in location and activities.
While enjoying the elegant simplicity of traveling with the simple essentials on one's back, students will learn about how expedition behavior enhances college life, as well as how to engage with others in the unknown. Trips like these allow students to bond with fellow first years in a way that only comes with miles and nights spent together in the woods.
Students of all ability levels are welcome.
