Intro to Whitewater Kayaking

Sat., April 5th

Catch the waves, feel the splash, move from eddy to eddy, ride the drops as you laugh with excitement. No experience? No problem - trips are geared for complete beginners. Our staff will teach you the basics in the pool first, then on moving water and guide you down beginner friendly rapids.

If you have solid kayak skills and want to advance, we can tailor this trip to your ability level. By making hard moves on easy water, you can dial your skills with lower consequence than trying to make easy moves on hard water.

Cost
: $45 for students/members: $55 for non-members/guests.

Trip includes equipment, transportation, and instruction.

No experience needed. Mandatory pre-trip meeting & 1 kayak pool session required.

Intermediate Whitewater Kayaking

Want to run Dumpster Hole? Or just surf the wave or dial in your ability to nail the moves on harder whitewater? This is your chance! As time and interest allows, we can also teach you basic swiftwater rescues skills (throw roping, boat to boat rescue, swimming, etc)
Where we go depends upon levels, we'll either paddle various sections of the Haw River or spend the day at Roanoke Rapid.
Cost: $45 for students/members: $55 for non-members/guests.

Trip includes equipment, instruction and transportation.

You should have a fairly solid kayak roll in a pool and attended at least 1-2 whitewater trips.
