Wilderness First Aid

2014 Course  Filled to 25

2010 & 2012 courses filled to 30.

If you plan to spend time in the wilderness you need to be prepared. Fast paced and hands-on, this two day course covers a wide range of wilderness medicine topics for people who travel and work in the outdoors. The WFA course is taught on the ECU east campus.

This course is pre-approved by such organizations as: the American Camping Association, the United States Forest Service, and other governmental agencies. It may also be used for wilderness medicine recertification by those with previous training.

This course may be used to recertify Wilderness First Responder, Wilderness Advanced First Aid and Wilderness EMT (wilderness portion only) certifications.


$195 for students/members of CRW
$210 for non-members of CRW & general public

$55 Wilderness CPR (optional component on Friday evening)


Saturday – Sunday, January 18th - 19th 2014, 8am-6pm

Friday, January 17th, 6-8pm, Wilderness CPR (optional)

Who the Instructors are

The WFA instructors are employed through Landmark Learning and trained extensively by the National Outdoor Leadership School's Wilderness Medical Instutite. Each Landmark Learning instructor brings a wealth of backcountry and medical expertise to the course.
