Does the SRC have Group Fitness/Aerobics Classes?

Yes!  We offer over thirty classes each week designed to inspire and get you into the best shape of your life.  Our instructor team is the best of the best so pick up our weekly schedule available in the SRC or check out our website for more information.

How can I request a Personal Trainer?

Come into the SRC Main Office M – F and complete a Personal Trainer Request.  Once you have completed the request a Personal Trainer will contact you to set up your first customized appointment.  We have a variety of Personal Training packages available to suit you, your budget, and your fitness goals.

Do you offer Yoga/Pilates Classes?

Yes Again!  Class information is available on our website, the Program Guide, and in the SRC Main Office.  Need more information – call us at 328-6387.

What is the best exercise for me?

The best exercise is any exercise you enjoy and are willing to commit to for the long haul.  Get into the SRC today, try a variety of programs/activities, and sooner or later you will find your niche!

Why do I have to pay for Group Fitness classes?

Group Fitness Passes allow us to provide and prepare the best instructors available.  They allow us to provide equipment for classes, state of the art programs such as BODYSTEP®, BODYATTACK®, BODYPUMP®, BODYVIVE®, ZUMBA® and keep student activity fees paid by all ECU students to the university as low as possible.

I am new to exercise, how do I get started?

Getting started is often the toughest part.  Just get in here and do it!  Try a large variety of activities to find out what suits you best, ask our staff members any questions that you may have, and remember to pace yourself.  For more information on getting started, give us a call at 328-6387.

How can I become a member of the Student Recreation Center?

If you are a student, then you are a member!  Faculty, Staff and Alumni can come into the SRC Main Office and pick up our membership brochure to find out more about memberships and programs.

Is it always so crowded?

The peak times at the SRC are between 4:00pm and 9:00pm Monday - Thursday.  Our operational hours are posted on our website.  If you want to avoid the crowds try a morning workout, come in during the midday period, and make sure you come see us on weekends. 

Is there anyone in the SRC that can help me learn to use the fitness equipment?

You bet!  We have well prepared staff available at all times to answer your questions, show you how to use the equipment, and offer you assistance with just about anything. 

BODYVIVE®  - what’s that?

BODYVIVE® is our newest Group Fitness program designed to give you a full body workout in less than one hour.  It’s amazingly fun, unbelievably challenging, and perfect for exercise for any level of fitness.  The class challenges Heart Health, Functional Strength, Core and Restorative Flexibility.  Pick up all of our class descriptions in the SRC Main Office or call us for more information!
