Have questions about campus resources for your student now that classes are in session?  Get your answers right from the source! Many of our campus partners will have tables available to tell you more about their programs and how they can help your student to succeed.  Confirmed attendees include: Student Health Center, Career Center, Campus Recreation and Wellness,  Public Safety, ECU Transit, Off-Campus Housing, Campus Dining and the Registrar's Office.

Family Weekend Welcome and State of the University Address

Join us as we officially kick off Family Weekend.  Chancellor Ballard, Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, Dr. Virginia Hardy and our Parents Council President will kick off Family Weekend with a welcome and update on important university projects.

Freeboot Friday

Enjoy this free event offering live music and fun for the whole family with an inflatable Pirate Ship for children, arts and crafts, Uptown restaurant food samplings, and a beer and wine garden for those 21 and older. Head to Five Points Plaza (5th & Evans) in the Uptown District for Freeboot Friday. You won’t want to miss a special appearance by the ECU Marching Band, and the ECU Dance Team as they lead Pirate fans in a Pep Rally like none other. Good company awaits you at Freeboot!

ECU Symphony Orchestra Presents Voyages and Mystical Songs

The ECU Symphony Orchestra opens their 2015-2016 season with Mendelssohn's Overture to Die Schoene Melusina and Vaughan Wailliams' Five Mystical Songs with guest soloist John Kramar, followed by Corigliano's Voyage and Smetana's "Vysehrad" from Ma Vlast.   Maestro Richter will lead the orchestra in this concert.   Enjoy all that our robust arts community at ECU has to offer!

Join ECU's student activity board for an evening of magic and comedy for the whole family!  Michael Kent, comic, magician, wise guy.  Voted 2014 Entertainer of the Year (Campus Activities Magazine), 2014 Magician of the Year (ACPA), his unique style of performing magic has made him a favorite among the hundreds of campuses he has visited.  In a style reminiscent of a late-night talk show, Michael invites the audience to laugh with him at the absurdity of a modern-day magician.  Michael's audiences experience what it is like when a stand up comedian performs (and occasionally pokes fun at) the art of magic. We will be showing the new Pixar movie "Inside Out" – the story of how Riley's world is turned upside down when she and her parents move from the midwest to San Francisco.  Riley's emotions- led by Joy, try to guide her through this difficult, life-changing event.  However, the stress of moving brings Sadness to the forefront.  When Joy and Sadness are inadvertently swept into the far reaches of Riley's mind, the only emotions left in Headquarters are Anger, Fear and Disgust.

Pirate Family Pregame Tailgate Picnic

Top of College Hill- 14th Street Across from Gateway East and West Residence Halls

Tickets $20 per person

Bring the whole family out to the pre- game tailgate and enjoy great food, music, games, and MUCH MORE!  You can sit and soak up the sun, and mingle with other families before the game.  Please note students are NOT able to use their meal plan for this event.  Menu will included Eastern NC BBQ (pulled pork), fried chicken, Vegan BBQ,  rolls, cole slaw, southern potato salad, fruit salad, mixed greens, brownies, cookies,  iced tea and lemonade.

This is a catered event, not an open tailgating lot, no outside food, drinks or vehicles will be permitted in this area.

Family Weekend shuttles will drop off visitors at the tailgate picnic location.

YOU WILL BE ASKED TO SHOW YOUR TAILGATE TICKET TO GAIN ENTRY TO THE TAILGATE AREA.

As a convenience for our visiting families, parking with shuttle service to and from the stadium area. Shuttles will drop off at the tailgate location before the game and depart from 14th street (behind Dowdy Ficklen Stadium) during and after the football game.

*After September 11th, remaining football will be available through ECU Athletics at full price.

NEW THIS YEAR- Parents will be able to sit with their student in EITHER the Boneyard (student general admission area) OR in reserved seats in other areas of the stadium, general admission family tickets have SOLD OUT.  If you and your student (either Student Pirate Club members or non-SPC) wish to sit together, simply indicate on the order form what your preference is and enter your student's Banner number in the space provided.  


If you take advantage of the option to sit WITH your student, please note your student's ticket will be mailed to you along with the other tickets ordered. 

If your student would like to sit in the Boneyard but you prefer not to sit in that area, please order reserved seats for yourself and other family members and check off on the order form that your student will NOT sit with you for the game.

Please indicate on your order form if you will require a wheelchair location.  You may purchase two tickets in the handicapped area: (one wheelchair location and one companion seat).


Movie Under the Stars: The Goonies

Sponsored by the ECU Parents Council and SAB Films.  Bring your blankets and lawn chairs for a movie under the stars.
Enjoy the family-classic adventure tale where an ordinary group of kids discover a treasure map.  In order to save their home from foreclosure, a group of misfits set out to find a pirate's ancient treasure.  Light refreshments will be provided.
Movie is rated PG, 114 minutes.  Start time will be dependent on sunset.  In the event of inclement weather the movie will be shown indoors at 9:30 PM.

Pirate Alumni Legacy Brunch
