Family with ECU jerseys on.

The faculty, staff and students of East Carolina University are excited to invite all of our Pirate Families to join us for Family Weekend 2014. Family weekend 2014 will be held August 29th- 31st, 2014, in conjunction with our football season home opener versus North Carolina Central University. East Carolina Pirate Athletics is excited to kick off our first season as a part of the American Athletic Conference. Membership in this conference is recognition of the high caliber of ECU Athletics and will allow our Pirates national exposure via televised games on ESPN’s group of networks. A televised game schedule has increased our number of weekday games, and resulted in a 2014 football season with four, Saturday, home football games.

The Family Weekend planning committee looks to select an affordable date from the available home games during the first six weeks of school, which are critical for student and parent connections to campus. Given this goal, and the conference-issued football schedule, the August 30th game was officially designated as Family Weekend. We look forward to having our Pirate Families experience the energy of the Pirate Football experience and the fun of all the weekend activities that we have planned!

Our designated Family Weekend for 2014 will be August 29th-30th, in conjunction with the August 30th football game against North Carolina Central University. This weekend will included all of the fun, traditional family weekend events we have had during past years as well as a few new ones!

The Student Pirate Club is a student-run booster organization for East Carolina University Athletics and is an arm of the East Carolina Educational Foundation (Pirate Club). The focus of the Student Pirate Club is to involve ECU students in an excitement based organization that is committed to supporting and promoting all ECU athletic programs. Students make an annual donation of $50 and will be given an SPC membership card that will allow them to sit in the SPC section of all athletic events free of charge.

Registration began in April and will run through early August. Please sign your student up as soon as possible in order to avoid having them miss out on being involved in one of the largest student organizations in the country! You can register at www.studentpirateclub.com.

If you opt to purchase general admission tickets, then your tickets will be in the student section of the stadium along with your student’s free ticket or Student Pirate Club pass. If you purchase reserved seat tickets, then you will be sitting in a different section of the stadium from your student.  The only way for your student to sit with you and your family in a reserved section is if you purchase a ticket for your student.

Before placing your order, please discuss which section you would like to sit in with your student(s) and the rest of your family and friends attending Family Weekend. With the popularity of Family Weekend and the football game, seats will be very limited and exchanging your tickets may result in you being seated in an area that is less desirable than your original seat assignment. However, we will be able to exchange tickets if you mail us back your original tickets along with a letter stating your reason for requesting a ticket exchange. Please keep in mind that you may have to pay an additional amount in order for the Central Ticket Office to fulfill your request.

Unfortunately, with the heavy volume that encompasses Family Weekend and a number of events that are planned based on the number of tickets sold, all tickets are non-refundable. Due to the nature of event planning and coordination, refunds will not be offered, in full or in part, due to weather.

Patrons may view the seating chart online by clicking here.

A 3-dimensional seating chart with seat view is available by clicking here.

ECU students will receive a free student ticket or have their Student Pirate Club pass to use at the Family Weekend game. These tickets are only good for the student/SPC section of the stadium. If you choose to purchase general admission tickets, then your purchased tickets will be in the student/SPC section along with your student. Please note that upon ordering your football tickets, you will be required to provide your student’s Banner ID or SPC information.

If you purchase reserved seat tickets then your student will NOT be able to sit with you unless you purchase an additional ticket for them. ECU student tickets and SPC passes do not permit students to sit in the reserved sections of the stadium.

For this particular football game, there will be no youth prices offered for tickets. Please keep in mind that all bodies entering the stadium (including babies and small children) require a ticket.

Bags (purses, diaper bags, backpacks, etc.) larger than 10 x 10 x 10, umbrellas, artificial noisemakers, alcoholic beverages, flags on poles (banners must be approved by calling 252-737-4531 by 5:00pm Thursday prior to the game), outside food or drinks, and coolers are not permitted into the football stadium. Additional information on stadium policies may be found on the athletics website.

A Family Weekend shuttle will be operating on game day. Park and ride passes are $5 per person. The parking lot will be located at the medical campus off 5th Street behind Vidant Hospital.
