Wednesday, August 23 - Recruitment Convocation (two times based on your availability 5:00 & 8:00 pm - check in will begin 30 minutes before each session)
This is mandatory for women already signed up for recruitment and parents are invited to attend as well. Recruitment participants will meet your recruitment counselors, known as Pi Chi's, will receive an overview of the recruitment week, recruitment rules, and hear a presentation about Circle of Sisterhood - East Carolina's Panhellenic Philanthropy. A parent orientation and question and answer will also take place when recruitment participants are meeting with their Pi Chi's.
Thursday, August 24 - Meet and Greet Day 1 (buses begin running @ 5:30 pm / events from 6:30 pm - 9:45 pm)
The first day of the recruitment process will allow you to meet and visit with half of the Panhellenic sororities. On this day all of the women going through recruitment will be wearing a t-shirt provided by Panhellenic and covered by your recruitment registration. This round will be held at Greenville Convention Center - transportation will be provided from College Hill and West End.
Friday, August 25 - Meet and Greet Day 2 (buses begin running @ 4:30 pm / events from 5:30 pm – 9:20 pm)
The second day of recruitment will allow you to meet and visit with the other half of the Panhellenic sororities. On this day the women going through recruitment will again be wearing a t-shirt provided by Panhellenic. This round will be held at the Greenville Convention Center - transportation will be provided from College Hill and West End.
Saturday, August 26 - Philanthropy Day (buses begin running @ 9:15 am / events from 10:30 am - 6:45 pm)
You will visit up to eight organizations to learn about the organizations that they support with their time and what organizations they help raise money for. At the end of this day you will again prioritize the chapters you visited in the order that you would be interested in going back to if invited the next day. This round will be held at Greenville Convention Center - transportation will be provided from College Hill and West End.
Sunday, August 27 - House Tour Day (check in @ 8:45 am/ events from 9:45 am - 8:25 pm)
You will visit up to five organizations to take a house tour and continue to get to know the chapter members. At the end of this day you will again prioritize the chapters that you visited in the order that you would be interested in going back to the next day if invited. This round will be held at Chapter Houses - check in will be at Wright Auditorium.
Monday, August 28 - Preference Day (check in @ 5:15 pm/ events from 6:15 pm - 11:00 pm)
You will visit up to two chapters this evening and have the opportunity to participate in a ceremony that is special to each organization. This is the most formal and serious night of recruitment and the chapter will spend time sharing what makes their sisterhood special and unique. At the end of this day you will rank your remaining chapters in order of interest and sign a Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement (MRABA) stating that you would be willing to receive an invitation to membership from any group listed on your MRABA form. This round will be held at Chapter Houses - check in will be at Wright Auditorium.
Tuesday, August 29 - Bid Day (buses begin running @ 4:30 pm - event begins at 5:30 pm)
You will receive a bid from up to one organization that was listed on your MRABA and will become a new member of one of the Panhellenic sororities at ECU. You will have the chance to get to know the other members of your new member class and celebrate with your new sorority at events planned by your new chapter.
Each chapter has different financial obligations; semester costs range depending on your membership status (New Member, Active Live-In-House member, Active Out-of-House member). Average Costs (for Fall & Spring combined) are listed below:
Average New Member Semester Cost - $1,370.33
Average Active Live-In-House Cost - $6,437.00
Average Active Out-of-House Cost - $1,612.10
There is no minimum GPA to sign up for recruitment but each chapter has their own individual requirement to extend a bid. This lowest minimum chapter GPA requirement is a 2.0 (unweighted) from high school or college.
Registration cost is $115.00 without a meal plan and $135.00 with a meal plan until August 1
Costs are $130.00/$150.00 after August 1
