The IFC is a self-governing body representing the sixteen member fraternities at East Carolina University. The Interfraternity Council at East Carolina University is represented by five executive council members, four standing committees, and a voting representative from each fraternity that works closely with professional staff of ECU. IFC strives to promote excellence in all aspects of fraternity life and academic excellence. In addition, the IFC judicial board holds organizations accountable for violations of student code of conduct, and fraternity policy. The Council also works together to help the entire Greek Community better achieve its common goal of membership development and service to the city of Greenville.
IFC coordinates fraternity recruitment activities each fall and spring. These carefully planned events give interested students the opportunity to learn about fraternity life, and see if Greek Life is for them at East Carolina University.
