The InterFraternity Council (IFC) is a self-governing body representing the seventeen member fraternities at East Carolina University. The InterFraternity Council at East Carolina is represented by eight executive council members, standing committees, and a voting representative from each fraternity that works closely with professional staff at East Carolina.
IFC strives to promote excellence in all aspects of fraternal life and excellence in academia. In addition, the IFC executive council and judicial board hold the fraternal organizations accountable for violations of student code of conduct, and fraternity policy. The Council also works together to help the ECU Greek Community in its entirety better achieve its common goal of membership development and service to the city of Greenville and the Eastern North Carolina region.
IFC coordinates fraternity recruitment activities each semester. Fraternity recruitment events are carefully planned and give interested students the opportunity to learn about fraternal and Greek life to allow students to see if going Greek at East Carolina is the right fit for each individual.
IFC hosts weekly meetings and is always looking to collaborate with community service organizations.
