Ongoing assessment is at the core of Student Affairs' work. The Student Affairs Assessment Committee serves ECU Student Affairs at East Carolina University by providing the leadership and expertise to advance a culture of evidence upon which the effectiveness of programs, services, and initiatives is measured. The committee's is aligned with that of ECU's Office of Institutional Planning and Research (IPAR) so that - together - the mission of the University is attained.
Assessment decisions are informed by emergent theory, student development theory, the CAS Standards as well as best practices from across the country and in partnership with IPAR and the ECU SACS committee. Committee members are committed to meeting and exceeding regional accrediting standards that require Student Affairs to maximize opportunities for learning inside and outside of the classroom.
