Emily McLamb, M.Ed.

Emily joined the Student Activities and Organizations staff at ECU in July 2008 after spending several years serving as the Associate Director for Marketing and Events for Conference USA.  She oversees the operations, programs, activities/events, staff members of the Office of Student Activities and Organizations, as well as the SAO Marketing Office.
A native of Van Wert, Ohio, McLamb completed her Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy from MSJ in 2001 and earned her Master's in Sports Administration from Xavier in May 2003.

Krista Wilhelm, M.S.

Krista joined our staff in November 2011, having spent several years working in Student Government Association, Office of Student Involvement, and the Center for Student Leadership & Engagement. Krista earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from East Carolina University. She continued her studies to receive her Master's degree in Counselor Education from East Carolina University.
Krista is the advisor for the Student Activities Board Films, Initiatives, and Visual Arts Committees. She also oversees the Co-Curricular Collaborations Initiative within the Department of Student Involvement and Leadership.

Darrius Barrow M.S.

Darrius Joined our staff in the Spring of 2014. He is a native of Eastern North Carolina that graduated from ECU with a Masters Degree in Exercise and Sport Science in the Fall of 2012. While at ECU, he served as the Graduate Assistant for Student Activities in the Office of Student Activities and Organizations.

Justin Janak, M.B.A.

Justin joined our staff in January 2012, coming from Mount St. Mary’s University where he spent time as a student and most recently served as the Associate Director of Campus Activities. Justin earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics (2007) and Master’s degree in Business Administration (2009) from Mount St. Mary’s University.

As the advisor of the Student Activities Board Entertainment and Special Events committees he truly enjoys guiding students in their personal and leadership development while organizing quality events and entertainment. Justin also serves as an assessment resource, assists all the units in Student Involvement and Leadership in their planning, implementation, and analysis of their unique assessment processes, and coordinates the accurate tracking of assessment data each year.

Darlene Langley, B.A.

Darlene joined our staff in March 2008.  Darlene earned a Bachelors of Art degree in Business Administration/Management from Shaw University in May 2010, along with a Masters degree in Christian Education from Apex School of Theology in May 2014. Her future goal is to reach out to unfortunate children who have special needs in their life. Her motto is, "True success is overcoming the fear of being unsuccessful."

Darlene is responsible for managing the financial components of our office, including our ledgers, processing payroll, coordinating interdepartmental transfers and direct payments, etc.  She is the first face visitors see in our office and represents the front line of our customer service efforts. 

Stefanie Lister, B.S.

Stefanie joined our staff in August 2014. She is from Raleigh, NC and recently graduated with a bachelors degree in communication with concentrations in public relations and media studies. She is currently working on her M.A. in communication, which she will complete in May 2016. You can find Stefanie working at events such as Pirate Palooza, Get a Clue, Homecoming, Halloween Havoc and Barefoot on the Mall! 

As the graduate assistant for Student Activities, she assists with planning, executing and administering events for ECU students such as Pirate Night, Pirates After Dark and Market Days. She collaborates with the campus marketing team to create advertisements and marketing strategies, and creates media content and press releases for major campus events. Stefanie is also content management trained and updates all SAO and SAB webpages and social media accounts.  


Juliana Jalal, M.S.

Juliana joined our staff in May 2014. She is a native of Wilson, NC and recently graduated with an M.S. in Security Studies and is currently finishing her M.A. in International Studies, which she will complete in May 2016. Before joining the staff at the Office of Student Activities and Organizations, Juliana worked as a student assistant at the Central Reservations Office, an intern with the ECU Campus Living Conduct Office, a resident advisor with ECU Campus Living, and a teaching assistant with the ECU Criminal Justice department. 

As the GA for Student Organizations, she assists with the development and facilitation of programs for student organization leaders on various topics, prepares and markets programs and large events to ECU’s student organizations that would encourage their participation and involvement on campus, aids with planning large events including the Get a Clue Involvement Fair, provides administrative support to the Office of Student Activities and Organizations, helps facilitate the New Organization Workshops at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters, and manages and disseminates materials to student organizations via OrgSync.

Jim Ruckart, B.S.

Jim joined our staff in May 2014. he is originally from the Charlotte, NC area and recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in communication from ECU. He is currently working on his MBA with a concentration in marketing, which he will complete in May 2016.

As the graduate assistant for Student Involvement and Leadership, he manages and assists a team of graphic designers and photographers, and helps various campus organizations achieve their specific marketing goals. He is also responsible for overseeing the operations of the marketing department to insure efficiency and accuracy.
