If you are looking for an organization but can’t find what you are looking for, consider starting a new organization!
Applications for new organizations are accepted in the first full week (Monday-Friday) of each semester. New organizations must have a minimum of ten interested members along with an advisor who is a full-time ECU faculty member.
Once admitted into the recognition process, organizations must have at least one member attend four workshops, where information is shared on General University Policies, Building a Constitution, Reserving Space, Fundraising and Handling Money, and Risk Management.
After attending the four workshops, organizations must present information about their organization to a recognition committee, comprised of both students and staff members. In addition to attending the four workshops, the organization must complete a constitution review and answer a series of review questions. Once completed, these documents will be submitted to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Involvement and Leadership for final approval. In all, this process usually takes about six weeks to complete.
