·        We will promote collaboration and a “pooling of resources” concerning event programming to support the Division of Academic Affairs, devastated by recent budget cuts

We will work to provide more resources for students concerning job preparation, graduate schools, and career prospects

Financial Responsibility and Transparency:

·          We will continue to promote and educate students on the SGA Funding Process

·          We will schedule town hall meetings to be held on both the East and West Campuses for students to voice concerns.

·          We will advertise regular updates for each branch of SGA in The East Carolinian

Outreach and Safety:

·          We will maintain an open-door policy: No student should ever be turned away from expressing their opinions to their elected or appointed officials

·          We will schedule monthly meetings with members of the administration to communicate on-campus developments and student concerns

·          We will create a quarterly newsletter highlighting successes on ECU’s campus and the challenges we still face. The newsletter will be sent out to the local community and key constituents

·          We will create a series of public service announcements educating students about safety issues at the university and in the local community

·          We will educate students about the realities of our community by publishing crime maps of the city, highlighting best practices for student safety, and showing safe routes for pedestrian travel.

Special Projects

Boneyard Student Section Monument:

We will seek to establish a monument near the Boneyard student section that will have the capability of collecting donations for a recurring scholarship to be created by SGA.

SGA/NPHC Plot Partnership:

We will financially support part of the total cost of establishing plots in partnership with the National Pan-Hellenic Council to promote community service and strengthen alumni support.

Freedom of Expression Wall:

We will work to establish a freedom of expression wall in support of free speech on ECU’s campus which will foster dialogue about issues and current events within the campus community.

Student Memorial Garden

We will financially support the establishment of an official memorial garden in remembrance of our student peers who are tragically lost throughout each school year.

SGA Constitution and By-Law Reform:

We will review and reform the SGA Constitution and By-Laws to ensure fairness and equality within our governing body. We will also reform the election laws, close unintended loopholes, and lengthen the time for campaigning, so that students may learn more about those campaigning for office.
