We will review the grade appeal process
with the Faculty Senate and enhance publication of the policy.

We will work with the Faculty Senate to
review and possibly reform procedures involving grade publication.

We will improve student retention by
highlighting important academic resources, by reinforcing and strengthening our
support for the Pirate Tutoring Center, and by linking more at-risk students
with help.

We will promote collaboration and a
“pooling of resources” concerning event programming to support the Division of
Academic Affairs, devastated by recent budget cuts
We will work to provide more resources for
students concerning job preparation, graduate schools, and career prospects
Financial Responsibility and Transparency:

We will continue to promote and educate
students on the SGA Funding Process
·
We will publish students organization
funding allocations on the SGA website, promoting fiscal transparency
·
We will educate students about how
student tuition and fee dollars are used in the university
·
We will fight in Raleigh to ensure the
lowest possible cost of education for students at ECU with the Association of
Student Governments
·
We will work with Campus Dining and ITCS
to allow students to access their latest Pirate Buck account balance on Onestop
Media and Visibility:

We will define SGA’s mission for the
student body and ensure its fulfillment in the future
·
We will create an official ECU SGA seal
in order to clarify our mission through our marketing capabilities.
·
We will work to reform and enhance
campus communication to students
·
We will direct the Student Body
Secretary to identify events each month for the Executive Council to attend to
engage other students in a dialogue about current issues.
·
We will schedule town hall meetings to be
held on both the East and West Campuses for students to voice concerns.
·
We will advertise regular updates for
each branch of SGA in The East Carolinian
Outreach and Safety:
·
We will maintain an open-door policy: No
student should ever be turned away from expressing their opinions to their
elected or appointed officials
·
We will attend the monthly meeting of
the Faculty Senate to maintain open lines of communication.
·
We will schedule monthly meetings with
members of the administration to communicate on-campus developments and student
concerns
·
We will create a quarterly newsletter
highlighting successes on ECU’s campus and the challenges we still face. The
newsletter will be sent out to the local community and key constituents
·
We will create a series of public
service announcements educating students about safety issues at the university
and in the local community
·
We will educate students about the realities
of our community by publishing crime maps of the city, highlighting best
practices for student safety, and showing safe routes for pedestrian travel.
Special Projects
Boneyard Student Section Monument:
We
will seek to establish a monument near the Boneyard student section that will
have the capability of collecting donations for a recurring scholarship to be
created by SGA.
SGA/NPHC Plot Partnership:
We
will financially support part of the total cost of establishing plots in
partnership with the National Pan-Hellenic Council to promote community service
and strengthen alumni support.
Freedom of Expression Wall:
We
will work to establish a freedom of expression wall in support of free speech
on ECU’s campus which will foster dialogue about issues and current events
within the campus community.
Student Memorial Garden
We
will financially support the establishment of an official memorial garden in
remembrance of our student peers who are tragically lost throughout each school
year.
SGA Constitution and By-Law Reform:
We
will review and reform the SGA Constitution and By-Laws to ensure fairness and
equality within our governing body. We will also reform the election laws,
close unintended loopholes, and lengthen the time for campaigning, so that
students may learn more about those campaigning for office.
