Referrals
If care is needed beyond the scope of Student Health Services (SHS),
our providers, after evaluating the patient’s needs, can arrange a
referral to a specialist in the Greenville area.
Patients are
responsible for presenting their insurance information at the time of
their referral appointment and any charges incurred are the
responsibility of the patient. We strongly suggest that all patients
check with their insurance carrier prior to any referral appointment to
obtain coverage and co pay information.
Be advised that many
local offices charge a “no show” fee; if SHS refers a patient
to a local office and the patient cannot keep the appointment, it is
the patient’s responsibility to promptly cancel and reschedule with the
referral office. SHS is not responsible for any charges
incurred due to late or missed appointments.
