Per University Policy, ECU Student Health Service does not provide class excuses to students for class absences due to illness.
Responsibility for class attendance rests primarily with the students who should communicate directly with their instructors.
Student Health Service (SHS) cannot verify the impact of an illness on a
student’s ability to attend class, nor can we confirm illness for days
that a student did not seek medical care.
Upon request, students
will be given a written verification in order to confirm that the
student has received medical care. This note will include the date of
service and arrival and discharge times.
Due to
confidentiality policies, the SHS will not release or discuss the nature
of the problem, with anyone other than the student, without their
written consent; only verification of date and time of service will be
given.
