We encourage family members to attend orientation at the same time as their student! The Family Program runs concurrently with the New Student Orientation program. Guests will have the opportunity to learn more about ECU and the resources available to their student. Topics include: helping students through their first year of college, financial aid and payment of tuition and fees, life on campus, information about housing and meal plans, and academic policies. Family members and students will be separated for some activities; however they will be able to get together for some meals and activities.
The fee for the family program is $85.00 for the first family member and $30 for each additional family member. There is no orientation fee for children under the age of 17 who attend family orientation, however, the family is responsible for the cost of meals for these children and there is no child care. Families may register for orientation as part of their incoming student’s orientation registration. This will be available later in the spring 2014 semester.
For two-day orientation sessions, family members have the option of staying on campus in a residence hall. The orientation brochure has more information on this option. Family members may also choose to stay in a local hotel. A list of Greenville hotels may be found at www.visitgreenvillenc.com/lodging.
