New Student Orientation

Congratulations on your acceptance to ECU!  You will find that ECU is a warm and friendly campus with faculty and staff who are anxious to assist you in achieving your academic goals.  We have prepared an orientation program to assist you with the transition to the ECU community.  You will have the opportunity to meet with an advisor, attend academic sessions, take placement tests, and register for your classes.  A walking tour will be offered during check-in only, so arrive early if you would like a tour.

An on-campus Orientation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015. At the orientation, you will learn strategies for student success, discover campus resources, learn of scholarships available, meet other new students, get your ECU 1 Card, meet with your advisor, and register for classes. Please bring a picture ID (valid driver’s license, state-issued ID card, passport, or Military ID in order to take your ECU 1 CARD.

Check-in will be held from 8:00-9:00am at the Mendenhall Student Center lobby and you should be finished registering for classes by 5:00pm.  The cost for attending the transfer orientation is $100 for students.  This covers breakfast, lunch, your ECU 1Card (your student ID card), and orientation materials.

There is a family program that will run concurrently with the student program.  The program will contain sessions to introduce family members to resources available to their student at ECU.  There is no cost for family members who attend orientation. Families who join their students for lunch will need to pay at the register when going into the dining hall.

To register for this program, print off the registration form below and mail it, along with the fees, to the Cashier’s Office.  You will receive an email confirmation with more information and a parking permit.
