New Student Orientation

Orientation registration will open on Monday, March 13 at 9:00am.

Congratulations on your acceptance to ECU!  You will find that ECU is a warm and friendly campus with faculty and staff who are anxious to assist you in achieving your academic goals.  We have prepared an orientation program to assist you with the transition to the ECU community.  You will have the opportunity to meet with an advisor, attend academic sessions, take placement tests, and register for your classes.  A walking tour will be offered during check-in only, so arrive early if you would like a tour.

At orientation, you will learn strategies for student success, discover campus resources, meet other new students, get your ECU 1 Card, meet with an advisor. Please bring a picture ID (valid driver’s license, state-issued ID card, passport, or Military ID) in order to receive your ECU 1 CARD.

The New Student Orientation Program is designed to:

  • Academically prepare you for your first semester through placement testing, meeting with an advisor.
  • Make you aware of important academic rules and regulations.
  • Introduce student life and involvement.
  • Provide a taste of what college life at ECU is like.
  • Help you to learn your way around campus.
  • Let you meet your fellow Pirates!
