The Pirate to Pirate Mentoring Program pairs new, incoming ECU students with trained, upperclassmen mentors. These mentors have been through similar experiences to you, and know the ins and outs of college life. They have been carefully selected and are paired with new students based on academic major and interests.
Participants in the Pirate to Pirate Mentoring Program will attend an Opening Celebration on Sunday, August 24 at 5pm, where we’ll meet each other, find out about the year, have dinner, and hear a dynamic keynote speaker on the topic of mentorship. Participants are also split into teams for the year, groups of 15 mentors and 30 mentees that will spend the year collaborating on service projects and fun activities. Each month, these teams will meet for leadership development, social activities, and reflection.
What does this mean for you? It means you’ll have a mentor, a peer that has recently gone through the transition to ECU, to answer your questions and be a resource for you throughout your first year in college. It means you’ll have access to numerous other mentors and interaction with other new students to get various perspectives on transitioning to ECU. And it’ll all be led by a Team Leader, an experienced mentor that can be an additional resource for you.
It's a simple process from here:
