Technology Services

The SA (Student Affairs) Office of Technology Services provides structured technology based solutions and support for departmental-specific systems.  This structured approach ensures that systems and processes are compatible with the universities computing environment, provides integration with administrative information systems, and ensures systems are sustainable.   These systems enhance the quality of services offered to faculty, students, and staff.

SA Technology Services utilizes a System Development Life Cycle methodology where there is a continuous review of systems and processes.  This methodology follows 6 steps; Initiation/Planning, requirements gathering and analysis, design, build/programming and/or identify possible vendors, testing, and operations and maintenance.

The SA Office of Technology Services takes a collaborative approach in the development and implementation of systems by building partnerships with both divisional customers and centralized IT (ITCS) as well as outside organizations such as the City of Greenville and Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

SA Technology Services provides support for the following types of systems and processes:

-         Security based systems - digital notification screens, security cameras, digital video recorders, panic, and intrusion systems

-         Departmental-specific systems – patient records, case management, appointment scheduling, facility access, inventory control, online web applications, reporting systems, event planning, and space management

-         Public Safety systems - Computer Aided Dispatch, communications systems, in car video systems
