Welcome to the page of the Victim Advocate, serving ECU students of all genders who are victims/survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking, and other violent crimes.
Victim Advocacy at East Carolina University was established in 2005 to provide counseling and advocacy services to individuals whose lives have been affected by crime. The primary mission of the advocacy program is to safeguard the rights of victims and provide for their emotional needs during a very difficult time.
Victim Advocacy Services
The Victim Advocate provides assistance to any member of the ECU community who has been the victim of a crime or other traumatic event. All victim advocacy services are free and confidential. The Victim Advocate is available to provide nonjudgmental support and will never force a survivor to move forward with reporting unless s/he wishes to do so.
