Safety and Training Resources
The ECU Interim Regulation for Youth Programs and Camps requires training for all staff and volunteers that must include, at a minimum, information about responsibilities and expectations; policies, procedures, and enforcement; appropriate crisis/emergency responses; safety and security precautions; confidentiality issues involving youths; mandated reporting; and University responsibility/liability.
The TEDI BEAR Children's Advocacy Center provides the Steward of Children Training that satisfies the University's training requirement. This training will provide participants with information on how to prevent, recognize, and respond to child sexual abuse. This free training requires 2 to 2.5 hours. To schedule a group training of 15 or more, contact Kelly Baxter at email@example.com for more information.
