Athletics Grants-In-Aid
Athletics grants-in-aid are awarded within the guidelines established by the NCAA. Grants-in-aid may be full or partial and are awarded for a period not exceeding one year. A full grant for tuition, fees, room, board, and books will pay whatever these services cost.
A student-athlete’s grant-in-aid may be reduced or canceled if the student-athlete:
- Becomes ineligible for intercollegiate competition; or
- Fraudulently misrepresent any information on the university application for admission, transcripts, letter of intent, or financial aid agreement; or
- Engages in serious misconduct warranting substantial disciplinary penalty by the appropriate institutional committee or agency. (Serious misconduct means conduct of sufficient gravity that if comparable conduct occurred in other departments of the institution, similar substantial disciplinary penalty could properly be imposed. Serious misconduct includes disobedience through violations of institutional regulations or established athletics department policies and rules applicable to all student-athletes); or
- Voluntarily withdraws from a sport at any time for personal reasons; or
- Violates athletics department policies or team rules provided such policies and rules are written and have been reviewed with you.
Questions regarding athletics grants-in-aid should be addressed to your coach or the director of compliance/coordinator of grants and financial aid.
Student-athletes who wish to appeal non-renewal or gradation of a financial aid award should review the appeals and grievances policies provided in this handbook and then contact the director of compliance/coordinator of grants and financial aid.
