Students interested in single rooms should note that singles will not be available until after room changes begin this year. Room changes begin after the first 7 days of classes each semester. Single rooms are offered on a space available basis only.
The room rate for a single room is usually $800 per semester in all halls except College Hill Suites and some designated singles in Scott Hall.
If a student who is paying a double rate for a room fails to keep the room ready for a new roommate or purposely discourages placement of a new roommate, they can be charged a single room rate. Students without roommates are required to keep their room ready for placement of a new roommate. Students without roommates leaving for semester break need to make sure their room is ready for a new student, because new students often are placed and arrive before returning students in the spring. Rooms will be checked for their condition before opening. Students with rooms not ready, will be charge for a single in the spring.
Students without roommates that are not paying the single room charge need to keep one bed clear, one desk and dresser space clear, and open closet space for a new roommate. We make an effort to notify students of placement of new roommates, but we are unable to guarantee notification.
