ECU faculty are invited to submit proposals for Co-Curricular collaborations for the 2008-2009 academic year beginning May 1, 2008. Co-Curricular collaborations can take any number of shapes and can address a variety of academic objectives and should fulfill these criteria:
- Programs/events should be student-focused;
- Programs/events should be broad-based and engaging enough to attract the interest of the larger ECU community;
- Programs/events should provide opportunities for faculty and students to engage in both formal and informal ways;
- The sponsoring faculty member will work directly with the Office of Co-Curricular Programming and Cultural Outreach to articulate learning outcomes, develop measurement tools to assess student outcomes, and assist in the distribution, collection, and interpretation of data collected;
- The Office of Co-Curricular Programming and Cultural Outreach may participate as a partner in planning;
- Recipient accepts responsibility for coordinating with respective departments and colleagues to support the event by requiring students to attend presentations;
- The project will promote understanding of various cultures, ethnicities, nationalities, religions, races, and related aspects of diverse populations and help ECU students develop global awareness;
- The Office of Co-Curricular Program and Cultural Outreach will be listed prominently as a Sponsor and included in all forms of promotion and advertising including but not limited to print materials, websites, press releases, television, radio, etc.
- Student input will be solicited in program planning.
