The Office of Co-Curricular Programs and Cultural Outreach

Thank you for visiting the website of the Office of Co-Curricular Programs and Cultural Outreach.  The primary work of the office is to enhance student learning and contribute to student success by supporting faculty with creative, curriculum-driven programs, resources, and events that occur outside of the classroom.

In addition to supporting academic objectives, co-curricular experiences typically inspire a range of outcomes that include:

  • Stimulating students to reflect upon personal or familiar principles, morality, and ethics;
  • Encouraging critical thinking;
  • Expanding student awareness of practices and beliefs of various cultural groups;
  • Fostering meaningful interaction between faculty and students beyond the classroom;
  • Developing an understanding of global citizenship.

 “In general, the more contact students have with their teachers the better…Through such interactions teachers become role models,
mentors, and guides for continuous, lifelong learning.”
