Climbing Wall Use Policy
1. Climbers must be supervised by the climbing staff at all times.
2. Climbers must display the appropriate climbing tag.
3. Beginner climbers are not allowed to belay without direct supervision.
4. Only climbing shoes or athletic shoes with non-marking soles are allowed on the wall. Street shoes or hiking boots are prohibited.
5. All chalk must be contained.
6. Only ECU adventure program equipment will be used on the wall with the exception of climbing harnesses.
7. Proper use of all equipment is mandatory. Do not drop or step on ropes, carabiners or belay devices.
8. Lead climbing will be allowed only during specified times.
9. Bouldering will be allowed only below the specified height. Hands must not exceed the established height.
10. No bouldering beneath roped climbers.
11. Spectators must stay clear of the belay and climbing areas.
12. The removal of all jewelry is strongly encouraged for safety purposes.
13. Do not grab the bolt hangers. Bolt hangers are for carabiner attachment only.
14. All problems with the facility and/or equipment should be reported to a member of the staff immediately.
