Group Fitness Classes
Great Beginnings: Exclusively available at ECU, Great Beginnings classes are brief introductions to our hottest workouts! This is a perfect way to sample a variety of classes, get training tips from our seasoned instructors, and practice flawless execution. If you are new to ECU Group Fitness, check out a Great Beginnings Introductory Class and enjoy more success… faster results… and lasting group fitness participation. (Gentle Impact Workout)
Body Step: Kia Ora! Body Step features results oriented, high-energy step training and full body conditioning. This 55/60-minute class is very popular so you will want to arrive early and allow plenty of time to reserve your spot! Body Step is PERFECT Step Training for beginners, AWESOME step training for “step” experienced customers, and is billed as the “World’s ULTIMATE Kick Butt Class” for those serious about fitness!
Body Attack: The Les Mills Body Attack Workout features athletic, mixed-impact exercise set to high energy, inspired music. Power, stamina and agility are fully challenged in this incredible workout that is suitable for all levels of fitness. Be prepared to bleed results with the the Body Attack Workout instructed exclusively by Les Mills Certified Instructors.
Power Step: Power Step features fifty minutes of freestyle step training. Freestyle fitness enthusiasts will love the non-stop fat burning, choreography challenges, and group synergy pushing you above and beyond your highest fitness expectations. The workout closes with flexible strength training for a complete mind/body experience. (Gentle Impact Options Available)
D.A.N.S.E/Signature Workouts!: Signature workouts are another exclusive to ECU Campus recreation & Wellness! These dynamite workouts feature high energy, creative exercise choreography elements designed to get you movin’ and groovin’! Dance, Attitude and Soulful Expression!
Fusion: Fusion is a high effort, fifty minute class designed to strengthen, condition, and redefine the shape of your body.This workout combines steady-state step training, high intensity intervals and contemporary strength training techniques making it a “must” for people looking for serious results!
Gravity: The Gravity workout has been engineered to increase strength, increase lean muscle, and decrease body fat. This fifty minute class features systematic training for every major muscle group through the use of plate loaded strength exercise, pilates matwork, and flexibility training.
H.A.B.I.T. (Hips, Abs, Buns, & Incredible Thighs): H.A.B.I.T. is the fifty minute solution to your biggest problems. The title says it all. With a combination of yoga, pilates, and movements designed specifically for those areas you are trying to strengthen, shape, and sculpt, you are destined to get into the “HABIT”.
Hyper Training: The HyperTraining Workout is an exclusive fifty minutes of cross training featuring athletic, coordination, and strength drills. This easy-to-follow workout is designed to help you get stronger and leaner while breaking through those stubborn training plateaus.
Enviro Training: In the spirit of the Hyper Training Workout, Enviro Training takes the challenges outside. If you like to "get out" once and awhile, this fifty minute class is just for you!
Cycle Fit: This forty-five to fifty minute non-stop studio cycling class will have you climbing to new heights in your quest for the best shape of your life. You will enjoy rides that will feature specific cycling drills, out of the saddle training (standing postures), and high-energy sprints designed to take you to the next level of cardiovascular fitness. Cycle shorts/gel seats and water bottles are recommended.
Rejuvenation Yoga Mix: Mix it up and treat yourself right in this forty five to fifty minute class that features a restorative mix of yoga, mat pilates, and flexible strength. Enjoy progressive relaxation designed to rest the mind and soothe the soul! (Gentle Impact Workout)
Aqua Fitness: Let the dynamics of the water combine cardio and strength training into one workout. No swimming skills are required in this fifty minute session that promises to deliver full-body training with emphasis on fat burning exercise. The water provides a constant source of resistance affording an incredible workout, with fewer stresses on the body. Water bottles and aquatic footwear are recommended. (Gentle Impact Workout)
Tidal Strength: In the spirit of Aqua Fitness, the unique Tidal Strength workout emphasizes training for strength and power. You will work with and against the water ensuring a high intensity workout with few mechanical stresses on the body. Water bottles and aquatic footwear are recommended. (Gentle Impact Workout)
Class schedules are published bi-monthly and are available in the SRC Main Office. Check the Fitness Hotline for weekly class information at 328-6443, or see the posted schedules located at the Customer Services Desk and by the Group Fitness Studios. Be sure to bring a valid Group Fitness Pass and Picture ID for class check-in. Water bottles and proper footwear are recommended for all classes. Have a GREAT workout!
