Summer Camps
Campus Recreation and Wellness offers two Youth Summer Camps.  Both camps are structured for a particular age group and offer a fun educational experience for your child.

  • Nature Discovery Camp (Ages 5-8)
Nature Discovery Camps are “hands on” experiential, active, creative, and progressive camps that will introduce children to the natural world.  Fields, forest, streams and ponds will be our classroom. Games, crafts, collecting, and sensory awareness activities will be on the bill for each camp. The camp also uses the Student Recreation Center to swim, climb and play traditional camp games. If your child would like building bug houses, searching for seeds and digging in the dirt, then this is the place for them.
  • Recreation Nation Camp (Ages 8-12)
Situated at East Carolina University and Recreation Nation Camp features its world class Student Recreation Center while exploring the many attractions of Eastern North Carolina centered on the theme week as well as having the opportunity to:
  • Swim (SRC pool and West Water Park)
  • Rock climb
  • Bowl
  • Participate in sports activities
  • Challenge course activities
  • Climb on the new alpine tower
  • Participate in activities and field trips centered on the camp’s themed week.

The field trips include taking trips to various museums, state parks, historical sites, athletic facilities, canoeing adventures, water excursions, and more. Camp activities are designed to help each camper become more independent and enhance self-confidence in a fun and safe learning environment.
