Nature Discovery 2008
Weekly Themes

Discover Dinosaurs and Prehistoric Times
Week 1 morning-June 9-13, Week 4 afternoon-July 7-11

Blast back to the age of the dinosaurs as we explore what these prehistoric creatures looked like, where they lived, what they ate, and if they still exist!  We will spend our days visiting with the snakes, gators, frogs and lizards and creating Neolithic villages. 

 

Discover Bugs and Birds

Week 2 morning-June 16-20, Week 5 afternoon-July 14-18

 

Join us as we look in to the life of the bugs and birds that surround us in our daily life.  Spy on the spiders, chase the butterflies, listen to the birds, and explore their habitats and their relationship to us in our world.  We will search for them each day finding bugs under rocks and in the dirt and birds in the trees and the sky above.  Come play with us as we discover their wonderful life!

 

Discover Oceans, Lakes, and Ponds

Week 3 morning-June 23-27, Week 6 afternoon-July 21-25

 

With our close proximity to the coast we are used to the marshes, rivers, ponds and the ocean being so close at hand.  So, this week we will explore the life above and below the surface including fish, whales, sea birds, shellfish and plants!  Learning about the leagues under the seas will prove to be an exciting time.

 

Discover Mammals and Other Animals
Week 4 morning-July 7-11, Week 1 afternoon-June 9-13

 

Take a look at many of the mammals and animals on our planet. From pets to wildlife, we will explore it all! We will learn about how creatures survive and coexist and we may even have some visitors!

 

Discover Planets, Stars, and the Universe

Week 5 morning-July 14-18, Week 2 afternoon-June 16-20

 

This week we will explore the planet Earth as well as the other planets, stars, and the Milky Way as we take a journey across our universe.  Telescopes, asteroids, rockets, and stars- we’ll investigate them all!

 

Discover the Wonderful World of Plants

Week 6 morning July 21-25, Week 3 afternoon-June 23-27

 

Our world is full of so many plants that we could learn and play forever!  This week we will learn about the plants that surround us in our daily lives. We will learn about how they grow, survive and reproduce as we will plant our own seeds, make our own flower pots and recreate plants in the form of arts and crafts.
