Our Mission
The Office of the Dean of Students at East Carolina University is the campus resource for addressing and responding to student issues and concerns. Committed to teaching civic engagement, the office cultivates a caring environment that values personal and academic integrity, respect for all people, and responsible citizenship.
Our Purpose
The Dean of Students staff serves as a liaison between students, parents, faculty, staff, and administrators to help solve problems, assist with individual or group crisis management, navigate various campus procedures, and serve as an advocate for students when needed. By connecting with other university departments, the office responds to student's needs by identifying the appropriate resources available.
Our Partners
In an effort to meet the individual needs of our students, the Center for Counseling and Student Development, the Center for Off-Campus and Community Living, the Department for Disability Support Services, the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities, and the Student Health Center join the Dean of Students to make available comprehensive student services that focus on personal development. These departments work in partnership with the Dean of Students by responding pro-actively to wellness, crisis, safety, and access matters. Collectively, we are committed to helping every member of our community succeed.
