Note to Class of 2012

You are the first class to participate in ECU Reads—ECU’s inaugural

summer reading program for freshmen. Here’s what this means:

> Take this book home and read it during the summer.*

> Small group discussions will be held Saturday, August 23, 4-5 p.m.;

To participate in the discussions, sign up during Orientation at the Student Involvement Fair (Student Recreation Center, 5:30-7:30 pm).

> Hear the author speak. Don’t forget to bring your book if you want the author to sign it. (Sunday, August 24, 2 p.m., Hendrix Theatre; reception to follow)

> When you sign up for small group discussion, your name will be entered into a drawing for free books for fall semester and other great prizes. Winners will be announced at author’s presentation on August 24. Must be present to win.

> Where will you read?

*All freshmen are invited to read the book.

The book is required reading for all EC Scholars and Freshmen Honors students.
