Duties of ECU Reserve Officers
The ECU Police Department employs approximately ten (10) Reserve Officers at all times. Reserve Officers must meet the same minimum standards required for full-time police officers as mandated by the ECU Police Department and must possess a General Law Enforcement Certification from the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education Training and Standards Commission.
Reserve Officer duties are the same as full-time police officers; however, they work on a part-time basis only to supplement the shifts and to provide police coverage for special events. Most Reserve Officers have full-time jobs with other police agencies.
Reserve Officers are NOT subject to benefits provided by the University.
*There are no Reserve Officer vacancies at this time.
