Duties of ECU Reserve Officers

The ECU Police Department employs approximately 15 Reserve Officers at all times.  Reserve Officers must meet the same requirements as full-time police officers as mandated by the ECU Police Department and the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education Training and Standards Commission.

Reserve Officer duties are the same as full-time police officers; however, they work on a part-time basis only to supplement the shifts and to provide police coverage for special events. Most Reserve Officers have full-time jobs with other police agencies.

Reserve Officers are considered temporary employees are not subject to ECU benefits.

If you are interested in becoming a Reserve Officer please contact:

Capt Mike Perry
