Student Newspaper Readership Program

This program provides free newspapers (USA Today, the New York Times, the News and Observer, and the Daily Reflector) to ECU students. In addition, faculty members are encouraged to use the newspapers as part of their course curriculums.

The program has four objectives:

  • enhance the learning environment on campus
  • increase students’ knowledge of community, national, and world events
  • encourage a lifelong daily newspaper readership habit
  • create more civically engaged citizens
