East Carolina University’s Judicial Board has the distinction of being one of only 12 judicial processes that is completely student run.  Students on ECU’s judicial boards work alongside the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities to hear cases involving any violation of ECU’s Student Code of Conduct.  At a hearing, the Advocate for Accused Students presents the accused student’s case while the Attorney General presents the University’s case.  A panel of 5 board members then decides whether the student is responsible or not responsible for the violation, and if found responsible the panel imposes any sanctions they see fit.  Applications for the 2007 – 2008 Judicial Board will be made available in January 2007.  Check the Information Desk in Mendenhall Student Center or this webpage for an application.  Once applications are processed, an interviewing process will take place and members of the 2007 – 2008 Board will be selected.  For any further information regarding the board, please contact either an Attorney General or Advocate for Accused Students.
