Meet Our Staff


ECU Student Health Service  consists of a dedicated team of health professionals comprising a comprehensive group of providers including physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, laboratory technicians, x-ray technicians, pharmacist, nutritionist, health counselors, and supporting staff.  All personnel aspects of our clinic work together to provide quality health care to our campus community.

 FNP-SHS Director
 Family Nurse Practitioner

Jolene Jernigan joined the health center staff in November 1976. She attended East Carolina University’s School of Nursing and the Family Nurse Practitioner Program funded by the National World Health Organization. She is certified in College Health Nursing. Her special interests include Emergency Medicine, Dermatology and Women’s Health. Along with serving as the Director, Ms. Jernigan sees patients in both the clinic and Urgent Care.

Dr. Siegel joined the health center staff in 1985. He attended Wake Forest Bowman Gray School of Medicine and completed his residency at. He is a member of the American Board of Family Physicians. His specialty is Sport’s Medicine. His clinical interests are Men’s Health. Dr. Siegel sees patients in both the clinic and Urgent Care.

 MD- Staff Physician

Dr. Aneja joined the health center staff in 1989. She attended Lady Hardinge Medical College and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. She is board certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Aneja sees patients in both the clinic and urgent care.

 DO- Staff Physician

Dr. Armen has been on staff at the health center since 2005. He received a BS in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University and his medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a Family Medicine Residency from Carolinas Medical Center and a Sports Medicine Fellowship from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a member of both the American Academy of Family Practice (AAFP) and the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine (AMSSM). Dr. Armen sees patients in the clinic and urgent care. He currently serves as one of the team physicians for ECU athletics.

 MD-Staff Physician

Dr. Dorman joined the health center staff in May 2007. She attended the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Family Medicine at Community Hospital Network in Indianapolis, IN. She is board certified in Family Medicine. Her interests include Health Education, Dermatology and Women’s Health (and her 2 cats and dog). Dr. Dorman sees patients in both the clinic and urgent care.

Dr. Williamson attended Wake Forest University Bowman Gray School of Medicine and completed her Residency at East Carolina University Family Medicine. Her specialty is Family Medicine. Her interests include Nutrition and Exercise. Dr. Williamson sees patients in the clinic and urgent care.

 SANE-Adult Nurse Practitioner

Linda Bolin joined the health center staff in August 1997. She earned her BS in Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her MS in Nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina. She then attended Duke University for the Adult Nurse Practitioner Program. Her interests include Health Promotion/Wellness, Women’s Health, Multicultural Issues, Forensic Nursing and Education. Ms. Bolin sees patients in the clinic and also maintains a joint position with the ECU School of Nursing as a faculty member.

 SANE-Family Nurse Practitioner

Lisa Keel joined the health center staff in February 2002. She earned her BS in Nursing from East Carolina University. After practicing nursing for 13 years, she again attended ECU and earned her MSN, FNP-BC. Her clinical interests include Public Health and Women’s Health. Ms. Keel sees patients in the clinic and is also a forensic nurse examiner.

Barbara Perkins joined the health center staff in the Fall of 2007. She earned her degree at East Carolina University with a Post Master’s Certificate-Family Nurse Practioner Concentration. She is Board Certified. Her interests include Women’s Health, Health Promotion/Prevention. Ms. Perkins sees patients in the clinic.

 PhD-Family Nurse Practitioner

Donna Roberson joined the health center in May 1999. She earned her BSN and MSN from East Carolina University School of Nursing. She also has her PhD in nursing from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She is a certified FNP by the ANCC. Her interests include women’ health. Along with seeing patients in the clinic she also maintains a joint position with the ECU School of Nursing as a faculty member.

 PA-C-Physician Assistant

Hannah Varney joined the health center staff in the fall of 2005. She earned her BS in Exercise Physiology from East Carolina University as well as her MS in Physician Assistant Studies. Her clinical interests include women’s health, preventative health and wellness promotion. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants (NCAPA). Ms. Varney sees patients in both the clinic and urgent care.

 SANE-Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner

Lanika Wright joined the health center staff in July 2004. She earned her BS in Nursing at East Tennessee State University. She later attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned her MSN and was certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner through the National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialties. Her interests include Women’s Health, STI counseling and Health Promotion and Prevention. Ms. Wright sees patients in the clinic and is also a forensic nurse examiner.
