L.E.A.P. Workshops
L.E.A.P. (Leadership Experiences to Achieve Your Potential) workshops are designed to engage students in leadership development.
We offer a variety of presentations for all leaders regardless of their level of leadership (beginner, intermediate, or advanced.) Through these interactive presentations, students will learn moreabout their leadership skills and abilities.
We offer 60-minute sessions (preferred) and 30-minute sessions (by request).
Workshops will be presented throughout the year for the general student body and there is no cost associated.

The Leadership Toolbox
What tools do you need to be a great leader? During this session learn ten tools every great leader must have in order to be successful.
Leadership Styles
Everyone has a different leadership style. Through this workshop learn about ten different leadership styles from autocratic, laissez-fair, or task-oriented leaders. Also learn which kind of leadership style you have. See the strengths and weaknesses of each type of leadership style. Finally learn how you can work better with people with different leadership styles than yourself.
Leadership Myths
There are many different leadership myths that people have about leadership. During this session we will explore a variety of myths and why they are false. We will discuss such myths as you have to be in a position to be a leader, or all leaders are charismatic.
Shiver Me Timbers--Breaking the Ice the Pirate Way.
Does your organization need to bond? Do you not know each other very well? Then let us come to your organization or class and share with you several different icebreakers. During this session you will learn more about each other. This workshop is very interactive and geared towards groups learning more about each other.
Servant Leadership
Do you want to be a leader that is effective because the needs of followers are so looked after that they reach their full potential, hence perform at their best? Learn how Servant Leadership forces us away from self-serving, domineering leadership and makes those in charge think hard about how to respect, value, and motivate people following them.
20/20 Leadership Vision
Learn to develop your effective leadership vision. During this session you will go through a variety of exercises where you will be challenged to pull out your leadership vision. This will be a very hands on workshop were you will be able to receive feedback on how to make your personal leadership vision stronger.
Leaving Your Legacy
How will you be remembered? Not ten years from now but tomorrow, next week, next semester. Did you impact people's lives in a positive way? Spend some time examining these questions and allow us to help guide you to leaving your legacy.
3 D's: Discover, Design, Deliver- (90 minute session)
The Center for Student Leadership is based on the 3 D's of leadership. During this interactive session first discover what are your strengths and weaknesses. Also discover what your vision plan for your life is going to be. Then learn how to design your action plan and find out what are some resources you can utilize. Finally find out how to deliver your action plan.
How to Communicate When You Don't Relate
Do you always see eye to eye with everyone? Is it frustrating to communicate with others that don't think the same way you do? How do you cope with conflict? Can you work collaboratively with diverse people? These answers and more will be explored when you attend this workshop session on learning effective communication strategies. You will discover your own leadership and communication style and how to work more effectively with others.
Keep the Candle Burning: Avoiding Student Leader Burnout
Did you know that 4 million Americans every year experience burnout? Are you feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and/or frustrated? These are all symptoms of burnout. Attend this interactive session to learn about the nature of burnout and what to do to reignite your candle. We will explore the recovery process and strategies to prevent burnout. Attend this workshop so that your candle will continue to show you the way long into the future.
Energize, Appreciate, and Motivate!
Do you find yourself staring out at a room with empty chairs? No one raises their hands when you ask for help. Are your membership feeling down, discourages, discontent, and ultimately inactive? Come and learn how to inject enthusiasm and excitement through strategic motivation techniques. This session puts the "move" in motivation and will help sustain you and your members.
The Accidental Leader: What to do when You're Suddenly In Charge
What do you do when you are thrust into an unexpected situation where you have to become the leader? Based on the best-selling book, this workshop will explore how to manage yourself, how to plan to succeed, and the right (and wrong way) to make up your mind.
Learning to Say No: Commit Without Over Committing
As student leaders we often find ourselves being "people pleasers" and always being the "yes" person that people can count on. We may start to feel guilty when saying no, but those days need to go! The more things that we commit ourselves to, the less of ourselves we commit to each thing. At this workshop, we will identify reasons people don't often say no, learn how to stop making self-sabotaging mistakes, and discover strategies for effective assertiveness.
Get More Done: A Pirates Guide to Life
Do you need to become more energized throughout the day? Do you want to gain more tips on how to avoid procrastination? Join us for this workshop to become more focused and learn strategies on how to use your time wisely.
Take the Lead: Serve First
To develop your leadership skills for the future you must be willing to be a servant first. During this interactive session discover what it means to be a servant leader. You will also learn valuable tools to equip you to better serve in the future.
Walking on Thin Ice: Building Trust
Have trouble forming a bond with new members of your team. With this interactive workshop, we will analyze the Bruce Tuckman's model of group development and how you can take your groups performance to the next level. We will be teaching icebreakers that will help break down barriers and get your group moving in the right direction.
Changing the World: Transformative Leadership
Come explore the world of a transformative leader. This is one leadership style that focuses on leading with vision and courage, beginning and integrating efforts through the campus and the community and implementing your actions with integrity. Attend this session to learn more about the transformative leader and how you can take action.
