Rules and Regulations - SafeRide does not duplicate the ECU Transit routes. This includes taking one or more buses to reach your final destination (e.g. Mendenhall to North Campus Crossing – Ride the bus from Mendenhall to downtown and transfer to the North Campus Crossing bus).
- If ECU Transit services your destination, but not your pick-up point, SafeRide will provide transportation to the nearest bus stop (e.g. Tar River neighborhood to The Exchange – call Safe Ride for transportation to the downtown bus stop and transfer to The Exchange bus).
- SafeRide will NOT provide transportation from an off-campus location to an off-campus location.
- Each student, faculty or staff member is required to have a valid ECU 1 Card. They must be able to present the ID to the SafeRide employee.
- Each ECU student is allowed one guest. The guest is required to have a valid picture ID and must be able to present the ID to the SafeRide employee.
- Smoking is prohibited in SafeRide vans.
- Alcohol is NOT permitted in the SafeRide vans.
- Disruptive behavior will absolutely not be tolerated. Any disruptive behavior which threatens the safety of another student or employee of SafeRide will result in the driver contacting the ECU Police Department for removal and/or further adjudication.
- Bags are provided for anyone who is feeling nauseous. Any accidents due to intoxication will be the responsibility of the rider to clean. Failure to respond to requests to clean the van will result in a Campus Appearance Ticket and being barred from SafeRide.
- Once a van arrives at your location, they will wait three minutes and then have to leave to pick up other riders. You will be noted on our log as a "No Show". As a courtesy to other students waiting on SafeRide, please call if you want to cancel.

- No service to apartment complex over 500 beds during Pirate Express operating hours.
